If you go through with it, do some research. Seek out people who have had their surgery done by the same surgeon. Most of the problems with CI's are in fact due to surgeons error and not malfunction of the device. Once you feel comfortable with that, try to seek out people who are willing to talk to you about the audiologist who does mappings because the audiologist they are the real brains behind the CI.Abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17272667052295179028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4596915427165444867.post-80455301232402531702008-06-26T19:18:00.000-07:002008-06-26T19:18:00.000-07:00Hi Alex!Oh there is no need to apologize because y...Hi Alex!

Oh there is no need to apologize because you do need a break from subtitling!! Ha ha!

Poor Abbie, her flight blog cracked me up, too! I flew so many, many times in my life well except only had flown a couple of times in past a few years but I have never faced anything like that *knocks on wood*.

Oh ya, I remember the other night you were like.. damn!! They changed my flight!! LOL... at least it was only from STL to your home instead of coming here which would have screwed up the length of your stay here! :-)

We are looking forward to July 26th and we will have a lot of blast!!

-SGSeek Geohttp://www.seekgeo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4596915427165444867.post-6679906855766109162008-06-26T18:22:00.000-07:002008-06-26T18:22:00.000-07:00Alex,When and If you do go to find out if you qual...Alex,

When and If you do go to find out if you qualify for a CI (at a reputable ear and hearing institute/hospital, not your audie), be sure to bring up the fact that you love your aviation job and find out if having a CI while flying won't impact your hearing and balance. Know your pro's and con's.

I have had nearly same loss as yours for many years aided with hearing aid and logged many miles as an air traveler myself for 30+ years. There was once a rapid descent that bothered me, and it really hurt my eardrums as I thot they would burst because of rapid air pressure changes. At least that part of my ears work, heh.

Yah, Abbie got the flight from hell for her maiden flight, gosh! who'd have thunk it?

Ann_CAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
